Built by Poker Players, Written for Poker Players

This platform exists because poker coverage in the United States too often falls into one of two traps: surface-level fluff aimed at casual readers, or impenetrable jargon that loses everyone but the most seasoned grinders. We set out to do something different. Our goal is poker content that is honest, deeply researched, and genuinely useful whether you are sitting down at a home game for the first time or grinding online tables toward a WSOP circuit run.

The US poker landscape has changed significantly over the past decade. Legal online poker now operates in a growing number of states, tournament circuits are drawing larger fields, and players have more options than ever before. Navigating all of that requires a reliable guide. That is what we aim to be.

The Team Behind the Content

Leading our editorial operation is Ted Mallonee, our lead analyst and editor-in-chief. Ted brings over twelve years of experience in poker journalism, with a background that spans tournament circuit coverage, cash game strategy, and regulatory analysis across US poker markets. He got his start covering the competitive poker scene for a major sports media platform and has since contributed to a well-regarded iGaming trade publication where he tracked the evolving legal landscape for American players.

Ted holds a degree in communications with a minor in statistics, and that combination shapes everything we publish. Content here is not guesswork. It is informed by data, structured analysis, and a genuine understanding of what players at every level actually need to know. He also still plays regularly himself, which keeps the editorial perspective grounded in real-world experience rather than theory.

Beyond Ted, our broader team includes editors and contributors who specialize in specific formats and areas of the game. From low-stakes online sit-and-gos to high-roller tournament breakdowns, we cover the full range.

What We Cover

Our content spans several core areas:

Our Standards and Editorial Approach

Editorial independence matters to us. Reviews are based on structured criteria applied consistently across every platform we evaluate. No poker site earns a favorable write-up simply because of a commercial relationship.

We do earn revenue through affiliate partnerships with some of the platforms we cover. That is worth being transparent about. Our editorial team works hard to ensure that commercial arrangements do not shape the conclusions we reach. Ratings are built on merit, and platforms that fall short on player experience, security, or fairness are assessed accordingly.

Content is reviewed and updated regularly. The US poker market moves quickly, and outdated information does real harm to players making real decisions. Keeping our guides current is not optional.

Why This Matters

Poker is not a passive hobby for most of the people who read us. It is a game they take seriously, invest time in, and in many cases, invest money in. That means the information they rely on needs to be accurate and trustworthy. Sloppy reviews and recycled strategy tips are not just unhelpful; they can be genuinely costly.

We take that responsibility seriously. Every page on this site reflects a commitment to accuracy, fairness, and the kind of editorial integrity that keeps readers coming back.
